All dressed up and nowhere to go

Last night was supposed to be race night, it is every other Thursday night as the Powerbar crit series takes place down at the tank farms. So we all lined up, paid out $10, pinned the number on and started getting into that special little mind space that you need to be in for crit action.

Then during the B grade race there was a big spill with half the bunch coming down and after some discussion the rest of the nights racing was called off. It was a bit of a bummer but you have to make sure everyone is looked after properly by the ambulance first, so it was the only decision that could have been made.

The only problem was that I had taken on the alter ego of Crit Man and was fuelled up on Red Bull but nothing to use it on. So like the rest of A grade we all went and rolled a lap of the waterfront....just a little bit more pumped up than normal.

Here we go

After a significant amount of time not riding and then just cruising, I am finally into my Base phase of training for the upcoming season. So far its been 2 weeks of solid training and I am starting to feel like a bike rider for the first time in a while. I'm going to lay down another 4 weeks of solid riding just to put some miles into the bank for the season.

I am really looking forward to this season which will start for real in April when the club season kicks off, but before that there will still be some good chances to pin a number on and make sure everything is ticking along nicely.

I have written up an annual plan for the first time which includes races which I will be going good for, so it's a pretty exciting time.

There is also some good news coming up about some new threads and wheels that will be helping everything click together, all I can say at the moment is stand by its going to be fun for the next wee while...
