    The maiden voyage

Yesterday morning, set in amongst the visa of luxury cruise ships and huge container ships berthing was the site of the new Genius Squadra on her maiden voyage along the waterfront. Such occasions bring many emotions to pass for both riders and casual observers alike.

The rides was smooth and comfortable and passed without incident, there was no stopping to adjust handlebars, not seat post slipping no brake pads rubbing...it was just me and my bike on a 60km voyage of discovery and wonder. Discovery of how to shift using SRAM after 11 years of using another gruppo. There was wonder at how the brake hoods actually are nicely shaped to fit your riding position. One thing I get sick of hearing in bother the cycling industry and many others is how gadget x is ergonomically designed....these things are!

I thought in order to really test the bike out that i better give it a go in a few crossing sprints, so under the cover of darkness I comfortably took the sprints 2-0 and was pretty pleased with how it responded. It comes fitted out with some Grammo one piece carbon bars which were not only pretty nice to sprint with, but also must have a different shape to my old bars as my wrists weren't all bruised like they used to be after some sprint work I have done in the past.

All in all things felt good, it was the first ride and I was feeling like a bag of ass so I didn't test it too much in the hills, that will come tomorrow afternoon provided its dry, can't go getting my new bike dirty.

The farm gate is still sitting in the hall way at home feeling sorry for itself, there is a new girl at home and things are going to change for the better. So if anyone knows of anyone after a large (possibly very large) roadie let me know.
